‘Whitney Houston must be smiling in the grave,’ says a Nigerian Idol in response to a powerful rendition

Progress, a candidate for the current Nigerian Idol music competition, is currently trending on Twitter for his passionate rendition.
Progress stunned the judges and visitors with a performance of Whitney Houston’s “I’ll Always Love You.”

Because of the high pitches, Whitney Houston’s songs are difficult to sing, yet Progress’ performance was pretty outstanding.

After Progress’ performance, the judges and audience gave him a standing ovation and were left stunned.

Many Nigerians praised the performance, while some believed he has a voice similar to that of the American artist.

“I stood up in front of the crowd and gave Progress a standing ovation… He completely destroyed Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”… I’m at a loss for words to describe his performance. Gosh!”

“What sets Progress apart is his adaptability,” commented @TWEETORACLE. He has the ability to sound like Whitney Houston one moment and Luther Vandross the next. This is the MAN, and what he does week after week is insane. It’s quite fluid. This man is great and going all the wayyyy.”
