Uche Maduagwu, an actor, claims that he was detained by security personnel after declaring that he is gay.
On Tuesday, July 5, the controversial actor declared that he was born homosexual and will always be gay, and he then criticized a man in Bauchi who was sentenced to death for being gay.
He later claimed on Instagram that he was arrested for his post following his announcement, but that he has since been released.
I was arrested this afternoon by security personnel for coming out as homosexual and urging President Joe Biden to censure Buhari over Bauchi’s undemocratic Sharia ruling on LGBT people.
I thank God that I am finally free; if the government does not stop the ASUU strike, I will lead a protest.
Uche Maduagwu did a U-turn on Tuesday, July 5th, when he disclosed that he is, in fact, gay.
He made this announcement approximately a year after coming out as gay and sharing images of himself in a red bra to kickstart his crossdressing business.
In April 2021, however, Uche admitted that he lied about being gay and just made the claim to encourage members of the LGBTQ community.
On Tuesday, July 5th, Uche took to Instagram to contradict his earlier remark, revealing that he is gay and would always be gay.
He made the remark while denouncing a Sharia court judgement in Bauchi state that sentenced a gay man to death.
