Bola Tinubu, a presidential candidate for 2023 and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, stormed Owo in Ondo State on Monday to express his condolences to the victims of the gunmen who attacked the St Francis Catholic Church.

According to Sololoaded, the presidential contender was in Abuja earlier today with other APC stakeholders and presidential aspirants as the party’s presidential primaries commence today.

Tinubu had already condemned the gruesome murders of innocent Christian worshippers in Owo, calling it “very repulsive.”

According to Naija News, the presidential candidate’s media office in Abuja declared that the savage attack on Sunday morning shook the nation’s conscience and broke the calm of the old town of Owo.

The assailants, he said, would not be able to shatter the country’s collective spirit or Nigerians’ determination to live in peace and compassion for all people, regardless of faith.

The APC national leader expressed his condolences to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the families of the attack victims, and the people of Owo and Ondo State. He asked the police and security authorities to do everything possible to investigate the attack and apprehend and prosecute the criminals who carried it out.

According to reports, Tinubu flew to Ondo State with delegates, chieftains, and other APC members who had arrived in Abuja for the party’s presidential primary.

Tinubu is due to meet with the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, as well as traditional rulers, including the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, and others, to express his condolences.

Furthermore, on Monday, the presidential candidate will meet with some of the parishioners who survived the attacks, as well as relatives of the victims of the St Francis Catholic Church attack.

According to reports, Tinubu told his advisers before leaving Abuja that he needed to visit the state to see both survivors and deceased relatives because their departed relatives would be among those he would have to govern if he were elected president.
