The dancehall-inflected riddim by Leave Me Alone is genuine West African vibes, with lush and sweeping guitar riffs that harken back to the high life and Afrobeat traditions.
In terms of lyrics, “Leave Me Alone” is about learning to protect one’s tranquility regardless of the circumstances. “Talking, Talking, Talking, but talk is cheap– I don’t need anyone’s favor to save God’s, and I’ve got me.”
Amaarae sings, her voice reassuringly sashaying over the Stalag riddim-sounding percussion beat.
