The Nigerian Police Force’s Katsina State Command complimented one of its officers on Friday for giving the owner of some missing money back his or her money.

While on the job, the constable, Nura Mande, is reported to have found $800 and immediately presented it to his supervisor.

Mande’s gesture ought to be imitated by other officers of the police, according to a statement made by SP Gambo Isah, the spokesperson for the Command. The command commended the officer and gave Mande N30,000 to reward him for his excellent deed.

According to Naija News, Mande was performing official duties at the state Pilgrims Welfare Board Hajj camp when he discovered the aforementioned funds, which allegedly belonged to female intending pilgrim Hajiya Hadiza Usman.

“PC Mande returned the 800 dollars to the board’s Director of Administration, Alhaji Sada Salisu-Rumah, while performing his duty at the Hajj appreciate its operatives who displayedhonesty and commitment to their duties.

“PC Mande said that his fear of God was what drove him to return the money to the board’s office so that the owner may get it.


The police department highlighted in a statement that Salisu-Rumah “commended the police constable for his exemplary behavior and honesty.”


Idris Dabban, the State Commissioner of Police, was delighted with Mande’s integrity and urged other police officers to follow in his footsteps.


He promised that the order will remain in effect.
