Gunmen suspected of being bandits reportedly raided the palace of Panyam town’s paramount monarch, His Royal Highness, Aminu Derwan, in Plateau State’s Mangu Local Government Area and seized him.
According to a source, the bandits invaded the castle at midnight on Sunday and began shooting irregularly to intimidate everyone.
DSP Alabo Alfred, the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, confirmed the incident, saying, “As I speak to you now, attempts are on to rescue the victim.”
According to him, the area’s DPO, the anti-kidnapping unit, and other tactical teams are on the scene to assure the victim’s safety.
