Moses Armstrong, a well-known Nollywood actor, has been detained for allegedly rapping a 16-year-old girl by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
Armstrong’s arrest was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, who described the matter as “extremely severe.”
He said the matter is being handled by Martha Udom Emmanuel, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom, through her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative.
“To get engaged with a youngster as young as 16 years old is not something I or the organization I represent stand for,” Rollas added.
“This is a very unfortunate event affecting one of our members, but I don’t want to say anything else about it.”
The AGN president went on to say that such behavior is frowned upon by the organization.
