Messi and Ronaldo are usually recognized as the top players on the planet, having dominated the sport for the past decade.

At the age of 37, Ronaldo is still unstoppable, having scored 699 goals and holding the record for most international goals (117).

Messi, 34, has 681 goals in 681 appearances for Barcelona and PSG, as well as 88 goals for Argentina.

The two superstars have a combined total of 12 Ballon d’Or awards, as well as numerous league and continental victories.

Mikel Obi has faced both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi while playing for Chelsea and Nigeria.

Mikel Obi, on the other hand, told Naija FM that Messi is the best player of the two.

Mikel first saw Messi during the FIFA Under-20 World Youth Championship in 2005, when the Flying Eagles were defeated in the final by Argentina.

At the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, Mikel was pitted against Messi once more.
