Lucky Philip Dube (pronounced duu-beh) was a South African reggae musician and Rastafarian who lived from 3 August 1964 until 18 October 2007. In a 25-year career, he released 22 albums in Zulu, English, and Afrikaans, and was South Africa’s best-selling reggae artist. On the evening of October 18, 2007, Dube was assassinated in the Johannesburg neighborhood of Rosettenville. In 1989, he married Thobekile Ngcobo for the first time.
