Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool midfielder, has pushed Chelsea to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer.
Sterling, according to Murphy, is better than his Manchester City teammates Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez.
If Chelsea can sign Sterling, he believes it will be a terrific deal for them.
This summer, Sterling has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues.
“I define world-class players as the greatest in the world… He’s most likely in the following rung down. The top players in the world should be a small group. When you talk about world-class players, you’re talking about Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and the like… “You can’t use world-class as a blanket,” Murphy explained to talkSPORT.
“Looking at City’s attacking talent, would you put Grealish ahead of Sterling?” “I would not.”
“I like Grealish, but I think Sterling is better.” Despite the fact that Mahrez is a fantastic player, I believe Sterling is a better defensive player… in a big game, I would pick Sterling over him.”
“Does Sterling make my top XI?” He does for me, but not for Pep, thus it appears that he will be let go. If I were a Chelsea fan, I would be overjoyed to have Sterling.”
