Nigerian artist David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has been chastised by controversial Twitter critic Daniel Regha for disrespecting God ahead of his impending new song, “Stand Strong.”

Davido announced the release of his new song earlier this week, which is extremely different from what he has been doing in the music industry for the past ten years.

Many people believe Davido may be vying for a Grammy with the new song, which was released on the microblogging platform Twitter and showcases Kanye West’s choir with stunning backup vocalists.

Davido has opted to do something different in an era when the music industry is under so much pressure, and he is constantly derided for not being nominated for a Grammy.

In a post on his website, Twitter critic Daniel Regha attacked Davido, claiming that including a choir band in his music is a tremendous smack in the face of the church, especially because he isn’t a gospel artist.

When Davido made songs with a choir as a secular musician, Daniel Regha felt it was a disgrace to God and all practicing Christians.

“DAVIDO, YOU INCLUDING A CHOIR BAND IN YOUR SONG IS A BIG SLAP IN THE FACE OF THAT CHURCH COS U ARE A SECULAR ARTISTE; KANYE WEST WAS WRONG TO SAMPLE UR MUSIC IN A CHURCH TO BEGIN WITH, THAT’S A DISRESPECT TO GOD & ALL PRACTISING CHRISTIANS,” he said. SECULAR SONGS CANNOT BE PLAYED FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.”
