Christian Eriksen, a former Inter Milan midfielder, is said to have decided against joining Manchester United this summer.

Eriksen’s career took a turn for the better after a brilliant 2021/22 season with Brentford, and he is now linked with a move to Manchester United.

The Denmark international is set to reject a move to Manchester United in order to stay in London, potentially paving the way for a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Eriksen is a top target for new Man United manager Erik ten Hag, who is looking to bolster his midfield options this summer.

Man United confirmed the departure of 11 first-team players earlier this month, including midfielders Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, and Nemanja Matic.

The Red Devils are in negotiations with Barcelona for midfielder Frenkie de Jong, but given the number of players who have left Old Trafford this month, Ten Hag could bring two midfielders to the theatre of dreams.

Man United reportedly made a contract offer to Eriksen, whose contract with Brentford expires on June 30.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United is unlikely to sign Eriksen because the 30-year-old wants to stay in London.

That would make Eriksen’s current club Brentford and former club Tottenham the frontrunners to sign him to a long-term contract this summer ahead of next season.
