According to football trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski wants to move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window despite interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

On Friday, Romano revealed this in a tweet on his Twitter account.

“Barcelona is preparing their fresh formal bid for Robert Lewandowski,” he tweeted. Laporta’s positive relationship with his agent, Zahavi, aided him in delaying and maintaining a legitimate verbal agreement on personal terms.

“Despite Chelsea and PSG’s efforts, Lewandowski’s preference has always been Barça.”

Meanwhile, Lewandowski, 33, has had a fantastic eight-year tenure at Bayern Munich, scoring 344 goals in 375 games for the German champions.

He won the Bundesliga eight times, the DFB-Pokal three times, and the UEFA Champions League once.

In that time, the 2021 FIFA World Best Play has also won a slew of individual awards, just missing out on last year’s Ballon d’Or to Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain in a controversial way after scoring 42 goals in 2021.

However, after adding another Bundesliga title to his collection last month, the Poland international declared his intention to quit Bayern this summer and pursue a new challenge.

“It’s the end of my era at Bayern,” Lewandowksi stated. I don’t think I’ll be able to play for this club much longer.”

Lewandowski’s current contract has only 12 months left on it.
