Mbazulike Amaechi, a First Republic Aviation Minister, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to free IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu’s release, according to Amaechi, will put an end to the spate of instability in the Southeast.

Most criminals claiming to be agitating for Kanu, he said, would flee if the IPOB leader was released.

“There is only one route to ending the killings in the Igbo nation right now, and that is Nnamdi Kanu’s release.”

“If that young man is released, all these crooks who rise up pretending to be campaigning for Nnamdi Kanu’s release when their true objective is to rob innocent and naive people will go into hiding because they will have no incentive to come out.”

“The IPOB has disowned them and taken steps to apprehend them, but as you know, criminals will have their own ways of operating and claiming one fake thing or the other, but they are simple criminals operating one way or the other,” Amaechi told journalists yesterday as part of events commemorating his 94th birthday.
